JACOB G. HORTON
Jake Horton is a shareholder in the law firm of Pitts & Lake, P.C., and practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including procurement of patent protection, trademark and copyright registration, intellectual property litigation, and licensing and acquisition of intellectual property rights. Mr. Horton received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2006 with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. He was selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the field of intellectual property in 2012 and 2013.
Mr. Horton received a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee in 2002. He served as a law clerk with the firm from the summer of 2005 until the summer of 2006.
Mr. Horton is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee and is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Horton is admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, The United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Horton is also a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
